National Sleaze Capital – Chennai
“If there exists an Indian cyber porn industry, Chennai could well claim to be its capital…. The Chennai Police have registered at least five similar cases over the last three years but the supply of authentic south Indian hotties has continued…These women often take alcohol before they act. Places around Kodambakkam are the hotspots of these creations.”
The above are the excerpts from an article in India-Today on Indian Porn Industry. All this is happening in place which is believed to be the most conservative in India. Not only believed of being conservative but people are even proud of it. Till day I haven’t met anyone who has spoken against Chennai’s conservatism. Obviously only this attitude of people has prevented the boom of a night life in Chennai.
In another article of the same issue India-Today talks about the extinction of the disco culture and new concepts like lounges, shisha bars, music bars, resto bars, sports bars and pubs taking over the 1990’s culture. Places like Pune and Bangalore which are far away from towns but not yet metros get mentioned but I was unable to find a place called Chennai being featured in that article. Forget about new concepts, 1990’s culture has not yet arrived here.
Wait. Think for a while. Now read on. No bars, no pubs, no discos but the capital of Indian Porn Industry. What could one infer from the above data? In the day light people shoot a porn video but don’t go out to disco in the night. Shooting or acting in a porn video in being conservative but discos and pubs are modern and not Indian culture. What a shitty logic people here follow. I think people here have crossed all the levels of hypocrisy. This dead place has constantly come into news for all the wrong reasons.
People here seriously need few lessons on being genuine and should soon try to learn how to keep up with time or else the world will forget you.
